Sites to See

In this section you will find some fiction and poetry websites to check out, should you wish to. I encourage you to click on one or two of these links. There's a lot of writing going on out there that's free for you to see and enjoy. And yes, the links toward the top are for journals/websites that have published my work. After all, they do pay my bills (well, not really, but they still get dibs).

  • Daily Love: Are you into romance and sappy stuff? Go here and eat your heart out. Poems, fiction, and even short plays, if it has a lovey dovey angle, Daily Love is publishing it, every day of the year.
  • Fiction365: Like the title indicates, this site publishes a spanking new piece of fiction each day that is quick to read for people who aren't into Moby Dick or Bleak House sized works, and for those who just don't have time to read longer stuff.
  • Every Day Fiction: Similar to Fiction365, this site publishes a new piece of fiction every day. The difference being that Every Day Fiction only publishes pieces that are 1,000 words or less (also called flash fiction). One cool thing about this site is that if you give them your email address they will leave a new story in your inbox to read every morning.
  • Downer Magazine: If you're having the kind of day that makes bridges look more appealing than usual, then you should likely avoid this site. When you feel a bit better though, you should give it a look. As the title suggests, they specialize in poetry that cuts to the heart and leaves it open and messy, making you wonder if it's worth the effort to put it back together.
  • Dead Flowers: A Poetry Rag: This site takes their name from a song by The Rolling Stones. Do I need to say more? Dead Flowers produces a nice publication that can be downloaded as a .pdf. Each issue is compiled by a guest editor, which is a nice touch that makes each outing unique.
  • Free Flash Fiction: A relatively new literary site, Free Flash Fiction is nonetheless a very refreshing rest-stop on the information super highway. They frequently update with new flash fiction pieces, hold monthly themed writing contests, offer weekly writing prompts, and now have their own anthology titled The Flashing Type, which can be purchased on Amazon as a Kindle Edition.
